Even though Guido Rodriguez appears all set to join FC Barcelona for free this summer, the club remain intent on adding another pivot midfielder before the next season starts.
Soon-to-be-named new manager Hansi Flick shares the idea with sporting director Deco that the No. 6 position needs to be significantly reinforced in the summer.
Joshua Kimmich has been the main target at Barça, but hurdles are expected in pursuit of the Bayern Munich sensation.
As such, alternatives are also being looked at, with Valencia’s Javi Guerra seen as a possible low-cost option to strengthen the No. 6 position.
Indeed, reports earlier this month suggested that Barcelona director Deco had already asked about the 21-year-old midfield talent.
Javi Guerra’s price tag revealed
Now, SPORT has come forward with an update on Barcelona’s pursuit of Javi Guerra and the price that it would take for them to sign him in the summer.

With Valencia looking to generate revenue from sales, their chairman, Peter Lim, has already put price tags on four players who could be sold, including young Guerra.
And, as per the report, Barcelona would have to shell out a sum of €20 million if they intend to acquire the Spaniard’s services from Los Che.
Guerra has a contract with Valencia until 2027, and given his age and potential, a fee of €20 million appears more than reasonable.
The 21-year-old is capable of playing as a No. 6 or an interior and has even chipped in with four goals and an assist in La Liga this season.
At this point, Guerra might not be a priority target, but if things do not progress in pursuit of Kimmich, the Valencia youngster could become a serious option for just €20 million.
