On-loan Barcelona star set to be offered to Man United in player-swap deal

On-loan Barcelona star set to be offered to Man United in player-swap deal

With Hansi Flick officially succeeding Xavi as Barcelona’s new manager, there are uncertainties surrounding the future of several players at the club.

Among them is Joao Felix, who is currently on loan from Atletico Madrid and faces doubts about his continuation beyond this season at Barcelona.

The forward attracted a great deal of attention in last year’s summer transfer window and that theme appears to be staying intact this year.

Atletico Madrid open to swapping Felix with Manchester United player

The likelihood of Felix returning to Atletico Madrid is extremely slim, considering the two parties are not on the best of terms.

With Barcelona also unwilling to spend big on the Portuguese ace, the Rojiblancos are exploring opportunities to offload him once and for all.

And according to the Daily Star, Atletico Madrid are willing to offer Joao Felix to Manchester United in a swap deal for Mason Greenwood.

Greenwood’s loan at Getafe has gone successfully, with the Manchester United loanee recently winning Getafe’s Player of the Season award.

As such, Atletico Madrid considers him to be a solid replacement for Felix, who has struggled to showcase consistent performances at the club.

Barcelona do not mind another Felix loan

With Xavi Hernandez gone now, the chances of Felix staying put have increased, but only on a successive loan acquisition.

In fact, reports have argued that Felix is very close to continuing at Barcelona next season, with Jorge Mendes working on engineering a mutual agreement between all parties.

Time will tell how the situation develops, but a move to Manchester United could materialize if Atletico Madrid manage to convince Felix.
