The appointment of Hansi Flick is set to bring forth a series of changes to the Barcelona team this coming summer.
There are many players who could stand to benefit from the arrival of the German tactician, including the players Flick has worked with in the past.
Robert Lewandowski: A vital cog in Flick’s setup
A recent report from Alex Pintanel has highlighted the players who might receive renewed importance following the arrival of Hansi Flick.
To no one’s surprise, Robert Lewandowski tops the list, with Pintanel claiming that the Polish international will be a fundamental piece to Flick’s new Barcelona setup next season.
Lewandowski, in fact, was closest to winning the Ballon d’Or title under the leadership of Flick. He featured in 71 matches under the German tactician, notably scoring 83 goals while mustering 22 assists.

Lewandowski’s contributions played a key role in helping Bayern Munich secure the treble in 2021. The Pole, therefore, has a guaranteed place in Flick’s Barcelona setup next season.
Who are the other players?
Lewandowski is not the only player who stands to benefit from the arrival of Hansi Flick this summer.
The report adds that Flick rates other stars such as Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Ilkay Gundogan quite highly and both will play a fundamental role in the Barcelona unit next season.
It must be noted that Flick has worked with both players during his brief spell with the German national team. He appears to have a good relationship with the duo as well.
Flick’s synergy with players like Lewandowski, Gundogan and ter Stegen could be beneficial for Barcelona as they look to usher in a new era next season.
The German, though, is expected to work closely with other stars as well and the coming few weeks, to that end, could prove to be crucial as he looks to settle into the new club.
