TCL plugged in for its third Conmebol Copa America sponsorship

May 31 – Chinese consumer electronics company TCL has renewed its sponsorship of the Copa América for the 2024 edition that kicks off June 20 in the US.

It is the third time TCL has sponsored the Copa America, having first partnered with Conmebol for the tournament in 2019 and again in 2021. No value was given for the deal.

“We are proud to close this alliance once again with TCL, a brand that contributes to allowing our fans to experience the greatness of the best of Conmebol Copa América USA through its high quality products, where the 16 teams will rock the continent,” said Juan Emilio Roa, Conmebol marketing and commercial director.

Adopting the ‘Time To Go Big’ tagline, TCL will focus promotion on its big screen smart TV products.

“Renewing sports partnerships is part of our communication strategy to support the brand’s sustained growth trajectory in Latin America. Furthermore, great sporting moments deserve to be watched on special screens like the ones we offer in our products and this explains the excellent results we have had: we are the number 1 brand in sales of 98-inch TVs in the world and the 2nd best TV brand in the world according to OMDIA,” said Dale Chen, director of marketing Latin America at TCL.

TCL will activate its 2024 Copa America sponsorship via LED boards, logos on referees’ shirts and on the VAR broadcast messaging. TCL’s logo will also be on press interview backdrops and official communications.

The Copa America USA 2024 kicks off June 20 in Atlanta with holders Argentina playing Canada, and conclude July 14 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
