In recent years, despite Barcelona’s underperformance, the club have turned into a breeding ground for young, talented footballers looking to make their mark at the highest level.
The likes of Gavi, Pedri, Alejandro Balde, Pau Cubarsi and Lamine Yamal have all made major breakthroughs in the Barcelona first-team in recent years.
To that end, another star talent Mikayil Faye has been quite unlucky. Regarded as one of the best defensive talents at Barça Athletic, the youngster is yet to get a chance to prove himself in the senior side.
He has mostly plied his trade for the reserve side, which has led to widespread speculation over his future. It was reported earlier that Barcelona want to keep him at the club despite receiving an ‘avalanche of offers’.
Faye considering Barcelona exit
However, a recent report from Mundo Deportivo suggests Mika Faye is considering leaving Barcelona in the coming summer.

It appears Faye feels somewhat disappointed in Barcelona due to the lack of trust the club have shown.
Although Barça have informed Faye that he will be a part of Hansi Flick’s pre-season camp, he is not entirely sure about his prospects at the club.
No shortage of suitors
Should Mika Faye leave Barcelona in the summer, the club will not have any problems finding potential suitors.
In fact, the Senegalese international has been courted by some of the top clubs across Europe, including Inter Milan, Bayern Munich and Manchester United.
However, it is Arsenal who have shown the most concrete interest, with Mikel Arteta, in particular, being a key admirer of the young defender. Arsenal are even poised to make a proposal for Faye in the coming future.
Barcelona, for their part, are aware that Faye’s sale could give them a momentary economic boost. But whether or not the reward will be enough to convince the club to offload one of its defensive gems remains to be seen.
