England’s men will play at St James’ Park for the first time since 2005 tonight, with Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions set to face Bosnia in our penultimate game before Euro 2024 kicks off next week.
Anthony Gordon has been ruled out due to an ankle issue, Kieran Trippier will lead his country out as captain and Ebere Eze will make his first England start along with Palace teammate Marc Guehi and Brighton’s Lewis Dunk.
Eze was linked with a possible move to Tyneside last month, where The Telegraph revealed that the attacking midfielder has been discussed during recruitment meetings.
In other news, Harry Maguire is set to miss out along with Luke Shaw, John Stones and Bukayo Saka. Kobbie Mainoo, Phil Foden, Kyle Walker and Jude Bellingham won’t be involved and Harry Kane is expected on the bench, meaning one of Ollie Watkins or Ivan Toney should start the 7.45pm kick-off up top.
“It’s going to be very special” ❤️
