Liverpool defender Andy Robertson is ready for “an exciting new challenge” under new head coach Arne Slot.
The Dutchman has taken over from Jurgen Klopp, who leaves after nine years.
Slot is leading the Reds into a new era and officially started on Merseyside on 1 June, but will not meet many of his first-team squad until pre-season in July.
Robertson is one of the players away for the summer, with the Scotsman preparing for Euro 2024 in Germany.
But he has sat down to talk about the future with Slot and had some positive words for the former Feyenoord boss.
Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: “It’s an exciting new challenge.

“Obviously the old era was pretty special and I’ve got a lot to be thankful for for that manager [Klopp] but I’m excited now by the new manager coming in: new ideas, [a] new voice and I’m really excited for what can come with that.
“I’ve got pretty big stuff coming up before that [with Scotland], so I’ve not really given it much thought and then obviously I’ll try to switch off physically and mentally like always.
“Then come pre-season it’ll be full focus on the new era at Liverpool and trying to get off to the best possible start and helping him in every way possible to try to make that successful for him as well.”
Liverpool were pushing for the title in Klopp’s last season by faded away in the final months of the campaign.
But Robertson has seen plenty of success at Anfield, winning the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup.
It will be a tough task for Slot to impose a winning method straight onto his new squad, but Robertson believes it is possible.
