Scotland record breaker Andy Robertson said his side’s friendly against Finland had been “so hard” for a squad “full of excitement and dreams” at Uefa Euro 2024.
Steve Clarke’s players signed off with a 2-2 draw against Finland at Hampden Park, spurning a 2-0 lead and conceding an 85th-minute penalty.
“We’ve all come through it, that’s the most important thing,” said Robertson. “It’s so hard; I can’t tell you how hard it is when you’ve got something so big, so close and then you’ve got to prepare for it.
“The lads were really good, all things considered. We’re all fit and healthy and we board that plane on Sunday full of excitement and dreams. Let’s go for it.”

Scotland Euro 2024 ‘dream’
Robertson captained his national team for an unsurpassed 49th time and is now tasked with inspiring them to a positive result in the opening game of the finals against hosts Germany on June 14.
Scotland’s only win in their last six matches has been against minnows Gibraltar but they comfortably qualified for the finals, running three-time Euro champions Spain close at the top of their group.
They are making a second successive appearance at the tournament but have never gone beyond the group stage in three attempts.
“There’s a lot of emotion,” Robertson said. “We’re going there to achieve our lifelong dreams. It’s round the corner, we’ve got the friendlies out of the way and it’s real.
