Newcastle agree sixth summer exit and Fabrizio Romano issues Miguel Almiron update

Following news that Lloyd Kelly is set to undergo a medical on Tyneside and sign a five-year deal at Newcastle United, there’s updates to bring on potential outgoings at St James’ Park.

Starting with The Athletic, Chris Waugh reports that a deal has been ‘agreed’ that allows Ryan Fraser to join Southampton on a permanent deal, with just a few small details left to be ironed out.

This comes after the winger’s loan spell ended with promotion back to the Premier League after the Saints beat Leeds in last month’s play-off final. His exit will be good news for our wage bill, with the 30-year-old currently on around £70,000-per-week.

He will follow Paul Dummett, Matt Ritchie, Loris Karius, Jeff Hendrick and Kell Watts out of the exit door following their release, but there’s also been an update on Miguel Almiron’s future from Fabrizio Romano.

The transfer expert reports that ‘more clubs’ have shown interest in the Paraguayan after a potential move to the Saudi Pro League collapsed in January. As he explains below, it’s believed Newcastle are ‘open’ to a sale, as any good offers would help us from an FFP perspective:
