According to The Telegraph, Tammy Abraham is eyeing a return to the Premier League and could be available for a bargain fee this summer.
Senior reporter Matt Law reveals that sources in Italy believe Roma could be prepared to sell for just £20m, with a host of Serie A sides needing to sell this summer to ease their financial issues.
The Telegraph name West Ham, Tottenham and Aston Villa as three of several clubs tracking the 26-year-old, but Newcastle have also been linked in recent weeks and will be on the lookout for a new striker this summer.
Callum Wilson is out of contract in 12 months, turned 32 earlier this year and struggled with injuries once again last season, meaning it’s increasingly likely the former Bournemouth man is moved on this summer, allowing us to cash in while we can and the player himself to pursue a new challenge.
We need another option to compete with Alexander Isak and Abraham ticks so many boxes. He’s a good age in his mid twenties, has Premier League experience from spells at Chelsea and Swansea, has unfinished business in England and, by all accounts, could be available at a very reasonable price.
Howe has mentioned our FFP battles and warned that replacing Wilson won’t come cheap, yet a cut-price move for Abraham – a capable striker six years younger than Wilson – is surely a deal we’ll be showing interest in?
Tammy Abraham may be on his way back to the Premier League for as little as £20million this summer – could be a great signing for someone…https://t.co/rOKX6CHlkN
