Euro 2024 kicks off this evening with Germany vs Scotland being the opening match of the tournament. The hosts are one of the bookies favourites this years but they have stiff competition from the likes of England, France, Belgium, and Spain.
Spain heads into the tournament under the management of Luis de la Fuente and a squad consisting of a blend of seasoned players and emerging talents. They’ve won the competition 3 times, tied with Germany for the most titles, and they’re certainly not a team to write off in this tournament.
Luis de la Fuente took over from Luis Enrique in 2022 and brought with him his experience from managing Spain’s under-19 and under-21 teams. After winning the Nations League in 2023, de la Fuente will look to guide his side to their first European Championship victory since 2012. Qualifying For Euro 2024
Spain had an impressive qualifying campaign for Euro 2024, finishing at the top of their group with 21 points from a possible 24. They won seven out of their eight matches, with their only defeat coming at the hands of Scotland who they finished 4 points ahead of in Group A of qualifying.

Spain have a wealth of attacking talent, which was evident during qualifying, averaging over 3 goals a game. They have several players who are capable of winning the Golden Boot at Euro 2024 and many of them are at somewhat surprising odds to do so.
Alvaro Morata
Team captain, Alvaro Morata, is expected to lead Spain’s attack at Euro 2024. The Atlético Madrid striker is 29/1 to win the Golden Boot this summer which seems like a big price. He’s scored 21 goals in 48 appearances for Atlético this season, along with 34 goals in 71 national appearances throughout his career, and one of the more likely players to get on the scoresheet in Spain’s matches throughout the Euros.
