Sky Sports: Newcastle star shortlisted by new Borussia Dortmund boss

According to Sky Sports in Germany, Borussia Dortmund are eyeing up a summer move for Newcastle United sensation Yankuba Minteh.

As revealed by Sky Sports’ German correspondent Patrick Berger, new BVB boss Nuri Sahin has shortlisted three targets this summer; Toon winger Yankuba Minteh, Ferdi Kadıoğlu of Fenerbahce and PSV midfielder Jerdy Schouten.

He reports that a move for Minteh has been lined up in case Jadon Sancho’s proposed move from Man Utd does not go through following a successful loan spell.

This tallies up with what The Telegraph’s Luke Edwards revealed earlier this month on a potential summer sale for PSR reasons, with him stating that ‘unnamed sides in Germany and Italy’ where showing interest in the 19-year-old following his impressive loan spell at Feyenoord.

It sounds like Dortmund are one of his admirers in Germany and could be one to watch if Sancho doesn’t extend his stay with the Bundesliga giants. However, they’d have to offer good money to tempt Newcastle into a sale, with previous reports suggesting we’d only sell the Gambian if an offer in the region of £40m arrived.
