According to reports this morning, Arsenal are lining up a player-plus cash offer for Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.
This comes via FootballTransfers, who’ve released an exclusive claiming that the North London club have switched their attention back to Bruno after growing frustrated in their pursuit of Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi.
It’s been previously reported that the Gunners can’t afford to pay the Brazilian’s £100m release clause, so a creative part-exchange offer could make sense on their part. Newcastle may have a very different view on that, however!
The report does not make it clear how much money would be offered or exactly who could be included in any player-plus cash bid, but highlights that Oleksandr Zinchenko, Emile Smith Rowe, Eddie Nketiah, and Thomas Partey could be available, with ‘one or two’ of those names likely to be on offer.
Eddie Howe may be an admirer of Smith Rowe and we’ve been linked with Zinchenko and Nketiah in the past, but there’s not a chance we’ll accept a lower price and a host of unwanted Arsenal players in exchange for one of the best midfielders in the Premier League!
