UEFA’s gives CPR campaign centrestage at Euro 2024

June 19 – With the second round of Euro 2024 matches kicking off today, UEFA is putting a special focus its ‘Get Trained, Save Lives’ campaign.

The campaign encourage fans to learn basic skills of resuscitation through an interactive training module on get-trained.com.

UEFA is promoting the initiative via bespoke TV ads, as well as on stadium screens, social media platforms and LED boards.

UEFA launched the programme in association with the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) last November and have a dedicated platform teaching football fans the basic skills of cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in under four minutes.

Up until now, UEFA and the ERC have delivered practical training to more than 3,000 players, coaches, referees, officials, and staff during finals and tournaments.

In preparation for EURO 2024, all participating teams received training on administering first aid in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest, headlined by Christian Eriksen’s incident at Euro 2020 and more recently Tom Lockyer’s scares in May and December 2023.
