Some big breaking news on Friday night has emerged on Michael Olise – and it’s bad news for Newcastle United as he looks set to join Bayern Munich Olise.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein has announced that the winger has opted to join the Bundesliga giants, who are expected to agree a deal with Crystal Palace to secure the signature of the 22-year-old.
Ornstein reveals that Bayern, Chelsea and Newcastle have all in contact with Palace this week in a bid to sign the French international, however it’s the German side who look set to secure his signature.
The Athletic report that Chelsea were forced to withdraw their interest as they felt the finances involved were beyond their reach; something which Newcastle may have also struggled with if this was an issue for the free-spending Blues.
It’s believed Olise has a complicated release clause in his current deal worth in the region of £60m, but his wage demands are likely to be huge given Palace offered him a hefty pay-rise to remain at Selhurst Park.
A real shame to see our dream signing is set to move elsewhere, but it was always a long shot.
