Some surprise claims have emerged from The Telegraph this afternoon regarding a player-plus-cash bid for Wolves centre-back Max Kilman.
Midlands reporter John Percy reports that Newcastle have offered a part-exchange deal that includes Elliot Anderson plus cash. However, it’s understood that Wolve have rejected the proposal amid growing interest in the defender.
It’s thought this offer is of ‘no interest’ to Wolves, who rejected a £25m bid on Friday from West Ham as Julen Lopetegui looks to be reunited with the centre-back he worked with at Molieux.
The Telegraph state that Eddie Howe is reluctant to lose Anderson, but the Geordie talent was used as a makeweight in our initial offer that has been rejected over the past 24 hours, with Kilman valued at £40m.
Kilman, 27, didn’t miss a single minute for Wolves last season and is thought to be on Man Utd’s list of centre-back options, with the 6ft 4′ skipper subject to a £30m bid from Napoli last summer.
