According to Fabrizio Romano, Yankuba Minteh has now made it clear who he would like to join after interest from a host of clubs in England, Italy, Spain and Germany.
It’s believed the 19-year-old has made it clear that Everton is his preferred destination as he’s eager to play in the Premier League following his return from Feyenoord.
Newcastle have been informed of his ‘priority’ destination and must now agree a fee with Everton to make it happen, with Toon chiefs also in discussions with the Merseyside club over a separate deal for Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Other clubs thought to be keen on the Gambian include Ligue 1 side Lyon – who made contact with Minteh’s camp over the weekend – along with Roma, Marseille, Brighton and Borussia Dortmund; linked via Sky Germany last week,
It’ll be a huge shame to lose the winger and a slightly baffling move, but it seems the club must sell to comply with PSR before the June 30th deadline and know he’s our route to raising funds.
