Cryptic post hints at Newcastle transfer as Callum Wilson gets Toon fans talking

Callum Wilson’s latest Instagram post has got Newcastle United fans talking as we approach the cut-off point for clubs complying with profit and sustainability rules (PSR).

In a cryptic message on social media last night, the striker said: “Growing sometimes means leaving people behind.”

It could mean nothing, but it’s an intriguing post given Newcastle have until the end of play on Sunday to raise funds, with June 30th the date that marks the end of the financial year for the majority of Premier League clubs.

Our attempts to reluctantly sell Yankuba Minteh have been well documented over the past week or two, but his proposed move to Everton is in serious doubt, while reports suggest he is not keen on Lyon, despite the Ligue 1 side coming forward with the best offer so far.

West Ham have enquired about Wilson and the 32-year-old has interest from several clubs in Saudi Arabia. His post makes you wonder if he may be the player sacrificed, especially when he’s out of contract next summer and in a position to leave; unlike Miguel Almiron who is away at Copa America.
