In a recent report by Toni Juanmarti in SPORT, it is revealed that Barcelona’s new manager, Hansi Flick, has a strong preference for signing Nico Williams over any other left-wing player.
This comes despite the fact that Flick agreed to take on the role at Barcelona without making any specific demands regarding new signings.
His primary goal was to enhance the performance of the existing squad, but he was also informed that if possible, the club would attempt to bring in a few new players that he wants.
In his initial days at Barcelona, Flick took the time to discuss potential new signings where various profiles were brought to his attention among his own preferences.

When it comes to strengthening the left wing, Nico is the player who stands out the most to Flick.
The club’s sporting department also emphasised that if there was enough financial flexibility, Nico would be their top target for the left wing. Flick fully agreed with this assessment, sharing the same enthusiasm for Williams.

However, due to the club’s tight financial constraints, other names were also considered. One of the most frequently mentioned names in recent months is Luis Diaz.
The Colombian is also liked by Deco, although he lacks the explosive qualities of Nico Williams.
Furthermore, another name has emerged: Jaden Philogene, a winger from Hull City. The club is evaluating the possibility of bringing him in on loan.
