Newcastle strike PSV agreement as summer switch is confirmed on social media

Newcastle United have hired a new Under-16 lead coach, with PSV’s Jack Brazil confirming his move to the North East on social media.

Brazil has been working on the continent for nearly six years where he enjoyed spells as an assistant coach for PSV’s Under-17s and Under-18s, also working as Valerenga’s elite head coach for the Under-12s and Under-14s.

It’s yet another small but impactful change behind the scenes that suggests Newcastle are pushing to improve all departments of our ever-improving Academy, with his arrival following early moves for U16 talents Aaron Epia (Everton), Kayden Lucas (Clevedon) and CJ Afumuzor (Portsmouth).

At just 30-years-old, Brazil has already amassed a wealth of experience coaching young talents around Europe and is eager to return to his home country to get started on this new project.

In a post on X  – that shows him about to board a flight to Newcastle – he said: “After 8 years living outside my homeland, it’s time to move ‘home’. Reflecting on these fantastic years across 3 different countries and cultures, I’m proud. Grateful for the experience! For all the people along the way who’ve accepted me as one of their own, thank you ❤️”

Newcastle have a long way to go before they are able to match the elite teams like your Manchester City’s of the world, but slowly they are building what will hopefully be a very successful academy for the long term.
