Barcelona captain has concrete offers from the Premier League and La Liga

The bond between clubs and their most experienced players is deep-rooted, built on loyalty and shared success.

However, there inevitably comes a time when the paths of teams and their veterans must diverge as they gradually lose prominence in the squad.

Sergi Roberto now faces the prospect of departure as Barcelona move towards concluding his extensive tenure at the club.

Having ascended through the esteemed ranks of La Masia and dedicated over a decade to the first team, Roberto could, for the first time, be wearing a different jersey in his career next season.

Roberto has his fair share of suitors

Indeed, according to AS, Sergi Roberto finds himself at a pivotal juncture in his career as multiple clubs from La Liga and the Premier League extend concrete offers for his services.

Roberto became a free agent on June 30 and has a renewal offer pending from Barcelona, conditional on them having enough Fair Play margin. If not, the club will have to let him leave.

However, the Barcelona captain is not resting his future hopes with few guarantees and, as such, is prepared to bid farewell to the club this summer.

As per prior reports, he already rejected Sevilla’s offer, who were looking to acquire him on a free transfer this year.

Still, Roberto could be tempted to play in the Premier League or explore other options in Spain.

In any case, despite Barcelona being unclear over their contract extension, the 32-year-old can take solace in knowing he has teams to choose from.

The player is presently enjoying vacation with his family and has left the transfer dealings to his agent. As the season draws closer, more clarity is expected to be achieved.
