Sky Sports: Former Newcastle star set to beat Craig Bellamy to Burnley job

Former Newcastle United captain Scott Parker looks set for another shot at management in England, with Sky Sports reporting that he’s all set to become the new Burnley manager.

The Clarets have been on the lookout for a replacement for Vincent Kompany after the Man City legend left for Bayern Munich and it looks like the 43-year-old will take the job at Turf Moor.

Sky Sports report that Parker could be appointed by the end of the week, while The Athletic reveal that he is on course to pip former Mag Craig Bellamy to the job.

Bellamy was Vincent Kompany’s assistant at Burnley and had held talks about the job along with former Man Utd striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy, but it seems Parker will get the nod after he was sacked by Club Brugge last year.

This will be Parker’s third stint managing in England after previous spells at Fulham and Bournemouth.

Burnley are close to appointing Scott Parker as their new manager 🚨
