Barcelona have been swift in trying to revive their loan deal for Joao Cancelo, just days after his previousl term at the Catalaon club came to an end.
The Catalans are interested in retaining his services and are working with Jorge Mendes in order to extend Cancelo’s loan spell for at least another year.
However, there is a possibility Manchester City might not want to renew Cancelo’s deal and may look to offload him on a permanent deal this summer.
Keeping that in mind, Cancelo has become a target for multiple other clubs across Europe.
Inter Milan eyeing Cancelo’s return
According to Sky Sports (h/t Mundo Deportivo), it appears Inter Milan, Cancelo’s former club, are eyeing the right-back’s return to San Siro in the coming season.
Formerly of SL Benfica, Cancelo played for Inter Milan on loan during the 2017/18 campaign, featuring in 28 competitive matches.

Inter’s renewed interest in the Portuguese international comes on the back of their desire to sign a replacement for Tajon Buchanan.
The young Canadian has picked up a serious injury in the ongoing Copa America, leaving Inter Milan devoid of options in the wingback position.
Cancelo has emerged as the ideal candidate to replace Buchanan as the Portuguese international can offer years of experience and has the technical ability to thrive in Serie A.
However, it remains to be seen whether or not the Serie A champions are exploring a loan deal or a permanent move for Cancelo.
Should Inter Milan look for a transfer on a reduced fee, it could pose complications for FC Barcelona, who are not in a position to sign the player permanently.
