FC Barcelona need new signings this summer as they hope to bounce back from a disappointing season and challenge arch-rivals Real Madrid.
For the signings to take place though, the return to the 1:1 rule is important and it is seemingly on the horizon. But, at the same time, the Catalans also need to generate revenue through some player sales.
Raphinha, for one, has been highlighted as one of the players that Barcelona will look to sell to raise money, along with Frenkie de Jong and Raphinha.
Barcelona want to sell, but mission difficult
However, according to Joaquim Piera of SPORT, Barcelona face an ‘impossible’ task of convincing Raphinha to leave the club as the winger intends to stay put in Catalonia.
A section of the club would love to be able to sell Raphinha, especially with clubs from Saudi Arabia willing to offer around €100 million (including add-ons) for the Brazilian international.
Furthermore, they would also be willing to offer him a lucrative contract that would at least double his salary.

A possible sale for at least €80 million would give Barça the financial benefits to go in search of the two players who need to improve the quality of the current squad: a defensive midfielder and a left-winger.
Raphinha hell-bent on staying
The main issue for Barcelona is that Raphinha is not willing to leave the club. He remains adamant about his desire to play his third season in the Blaugrana and has told Deco, who was his agent and is now the club’s director of football.
As such, now the Barcelona director has 50 days to try to convince his former client to move to the Saudi Pro League, where he will be welcomed with open arms and will have star status.
Raphinha, however, has his own particular roadmap. He intends to play and succeed at the new Camp Nou, even though he knows that Lamine Yamal will occupy his natural position.
