Speaking in an interview with Prensa Ibérica (h/t SPORT), Ferran Torres has reiterated that he will not leave Barcelona this summer and will be staying put at the club.
Like many players in the Barça squad, Ferran’s future is also not secure with reports suggesting that the club would be open to offers and would study the possibility of a sale if anything interesting came along.
The forward, currently on international duty with Spain at UEFA Euro 2024, however, has been insisting that the idea of a departure has never crossed his mind and that he plans to stay and succeed at Barcelona.
“I will continue at Barça next season, it’s not that I want to stay, it’s that I am going to stay,” he had said back in June.
Reaffirming his stance
Now, during the latest interview, Ferran has gone ahead and reaffirmed his position as far as his future at Barcelona is concerned.
“I don’t know, I’m one of those people who puts my mobile phone on aeroplane mode and doesn’t listen to what they say about me,” said Torres about rumours and speculations.
“I’m in Barcelona, I have a contract at Barcelona and I will continue at Barcelona,” the Spanish international then confirmed.
Torres also revealed that he had received messages from new manager Hansi Flick, wishing him luck at the Euros, saying:
“Some messages that have wished me luck. And I’m already looking forward to going to Barcelona, talking to the manager, to put myself in his hands because I’m sure he’ll get a lot of potential out of us.”

Ferran then went on to lavish praise on Barcelona teenage prodigy Lamine Yamal and the club’s top target, Nico Williams, both of whom have taken the Euros by storm with Spain.
“They are prodigies, they are kids out of the ordinary, they are showing it and at their age it has a lot of merit,” said the ex-Manchester City forward.
