Julian Placias became the third American player to join Belgian side Westerlo in recent years.
Placias, 18, made the move to the top-flight club, signing a three-year contract until 2027. His contract also includes an option year for 2028.
A dual-national, who is eligible to represent the United States or Argentina, Placias joins Griffin Yow and Bryan Reynolds at Westerlo this season.
Placias is coming off 10 appearances with USL side North Carolina FC this spring, where he scored two goals. Prior to that, Placias made seven appearances last season for MLS NEXT Pro side LA Galaxy II.
Westerlo has one final match on its preseason schedule before opening its league campaign on July 28 against Cercle Brugge.
