According to reports, Newcastle United have been impressed by Turkish attacker Baris Alper Yilmaz during the Euro 2024 tournament this summer.
In his latest piece for HITC, Graeme Bailey reports that Newcastle Arsenal and Liverpool have all expressed their interest in via intermediaries after his flashes of brilliance and relentless running in Germany.
Newcastle are certainly in the market for a new right-sided attacker with the likes of Jarrod Bowen and Bryan Mbeumo previously linked, but Yilmaz would throw another potential name into the mix if reports of our interest held any truth.
Yilmaz had a solid season with Galatasaray as he recorded seven goals and 12 assists in all competitions during their title-winning season, but it was his performances on the biggest stage that have caught the eye of some top teams.
The 24-year-old played every single minute of Turkey’s five games at Euro 2024 before they exited at the quarter-final stage to Netherlands and is known for his versatility, operating down either flank or up front for club and country.
