Bruno Guimaraes in shock & Jamie Reuben reveals big plans after Staveley/Ghodoussi exit

Following the departure of the two public figureheads of post-takeover Newcastle United, Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi, Bruno Guimaraes and co-owner Jamie Reuben have posted emotional tributes to the pair.

In a post on Instagram, Bruno admitted he is ‘very sad by the news’ and still in shock by their exits, thanking both for pushing him to join Newcastle from Lyon two and a half years ago.

Reuben has also hailed their ‘tenacity, perseverance and unwavering dedication’, describing both as ‘legends of this club’ as he vows to ‘transform’ Newcastle into a ‘major force’ alongside majority owners PIF.

Bruno Guimaraes on Instagram:“Very Sad by the news, thank you both for what you have done for the club. I still don’t believe in it. Wishing you all the best for the future and thank you once again for pushing me into the club! Always will be grateful for @amandastaveley and @mehrdadghodoussi.”

Jamie Reuben on X: “Long before we were business partners, Amanda and @ghodoussi were friends, our success today is a testament to their tenacity, perseverance and unwavering dedication. They will undoubtedly be remembered as legends of this club and I wish them both well.”

“The journey to transform @NUFC into a major force that competes at the highest level continues and I look forward to continuing this work with @PIF_en in the years to come.”

Following the news that Staveley and Ghodoussi will leave the club immediately, the club announced that the pair would sell their remaining shares in Newcastle to the PIF and Reuben brothers, marking an end of an era on Tyneside.
