All eyes ahead for Chelsea with first game back in just 9 days – Talk Chelsea

In just nine days time, Chelsea play football again ladies and gents. That might fill you with fear, anxiety, and dread, or it might fill you with excitement and happiness. Whatever it might make you feel, you probably can’t help but look forward to Chelsea returning, even if it’s just a little bit.

For me, it’s clean slate time. Everything from last season and the season before disappears. We go again. We start the season on the same amount of points as your Manchester City’s and your Arsenal’s, and we have a chance to succeed once again. Do I think we will succeed? But we still have bits to do. We have a chunk of players to sell, and that will step up now that the international tournaments are over. We will see players now start to move out the door, with Saudi I think going to be playing a bit of a part in some of those moves.

Then we are still looking to sign a new winger and a new striker, depending on options, opportunities, availability, and overall cost. But things are going on behind the scenes, and now that these competitions are over, I think we will start to see more noise on Chelsea transfers in the next days and weeks. A lot will also depend on outgoings, and that means there could be more positions than just a winger and striker sought.

As always, I’ll bring whatever I get on my own Substack website. I speak to…
