Barcelona 17-year-old wonderkid’s shirt sales through the roof after kit launch

The 2024-25 season is a special one for Barcelona as it marks the club’s 125th anniversary. To commemorate the same, Nike designed a unique retro kit for the season resembling the iconic kits of the 1998-99 and 1999-00 seasons.

The new kit, officially unveiled earlier today, has hit the club’s stores in Barcelona and the reaction from the fans has been overwhelming. Needless to say, the shirts of some players are selling far more than others.

The highest-seller

With Barcelona announcing recently that young phenom Lamine Yamal will wear the number 19 for the upcoming campaign, the demand for the kit has shot through the roof.

The Yamal fever has taken Catalonia by storm with the common sizes selling out in a matter of minutes as revealed by Mundo Deportivo.

The Barcelona offices forecasted that the teenage star’s shirt would sell the highest and thus prepared in advance for the demand.

After all, the Euro Young Player of the Tournament is one of the hottest talents in world football right now.

The next highest-selling kits

While the demand for Yamal’s shirt is almost unparalleled, the team’s next highest-selling shirts also belong to young talents. Former Golden Boy winners Pedri and Gavi find themselves occupying the aforementioned positions.

Surprisingly, all three players will not participate in Barcelona’s pre-season tour in the United States.

The midfielders are both injured and will not make it in time for the tour while Yamal will be rested after his hectic run in the Euros.
