Former Newcastle United duo Matt Ritchie and Paul Dummett could be reunited this summer as Sheffield United look to complete a double deal for the two players currently without a club.
Eddie Howe has been very vocal about how important having players like Ritchie and Dummett in the squad was last year, but with no European football to play there was simply no room for the two veterans.
According to a report from TEAMtalk, the Blades are preparing an offer for the former Welsh international while Craig Hope (Daily Mail) reported earlier this month that Ritchie has been offered a move to the Blades.
The Scotsman is also attracting interest from one of his former clubs in Portsmouth, but it is Sheffield United who have proposed an official contract offer to the 34-year-old.
For Newcastle supporters it would be good to see the two fan favourites reunited in the Championship where they could still offer some key experience and enjoy a lot more regular playing time.
