According to a report from SPORT, Barcelona are eyeing a strategic move to acquire Dani Olmo.
Instead of paying the full release clause, the club plans to offer a lower initial fee, supplemented by performance-based incentives that could ultimately exceed the release clause amount if Olmo excels.
It’s important to note that the €60 million release clause deadline for Olmo to leave RB Leipzig will pass today.
This means that any club, including Barcelona, interested in signing him must now engage in direct negotiations with the German club. Despite this, the price is not expected to increase significantly.
Why will the price not increase?
The main reason for this is the appreciation Leipzig’s management has for Olmo’s contributions. He has not only met their expectations on the field but also demonstrated his commitment to the club with notable gestures last year.
Given this, the German team feels it would be morally wrong to retain him against his wishes, and thus, they are willing to negotiate a reasonable transfer fee.
