Barcelona veteran keen to repeat past success with Hansi Flick as he arrives for pre-season

As Barcelona’s pre-season preparations continue, they are boosted by the return of two more stars today as Robert Lewandowski and Andreas Christensen have joined the squad at Ciutat Esportiva after their extended holiday.

The pair enjoyed an extended break due to their involvement in the UEFA Euro 2024 but are back at the disposal of manager Hansi Flick today.

Now, Mundo Deportivo reports that Robert Lewandowski is keen on repeating the past success he enjoyed while playing under Hansi Flick at Bayern Munich.

Both Lewandowski and Christensen joined pre-season training today and are expected to be a part of the US tour.

Lewandowski had already been working on a special fitness programme during his vacations so as to arrive at the club in good shape and be able to hit the ground running.

Lewandowski already knows what it is like to work with Hansi Flick at Bayern in the past and now he will once again have the German coach at the helm.

The Polish striker was at his best under Flick during the season and a half they shared at Bayern, bagging 83 goals from 71 games.

Three years on, Flick and Lewandowski cross paths again at Barça and the pair aim to repeat the successes they enjoyed on Bavarian soil.

Having joined Barcelona two years ago from Bayern Munich, Lewandowski has racked up 59 goals across all competitions, even winning the La Liga Pichichi Trophy in his debut season.

With Flick at the helm of affairs, the veteran superstar will be eager to reclaim the top scorer award and help his team to silverware.
