The U.S. women’s national team will face European side Iceland in its first two matches following the Paris Olympics.
Iceland will make the trip to Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas on October 24 and GEODIS Park in Nashville, Tenn. on October 27. The USWNT will also play a third match on Oct. 30 against an opponent that has yet to be determined.
Iceland is currently ranked No. 14 in the world and eighth among European countries. They have qualified for the UEFA Women’s European Championships after a second-place finish in their qualifying group.
It will mark the first head-to-head showdown between the USWNT and Iceland since the Americans claimed a 5-0 victory in Frisco, Texas on Feb. 23, 2022.
The Americans are a perfect 33-0-0 in Texas and will be taking part in their third match in Austin. Nigeria suffered a 2-0 friendly loss to the USWNT at Q2 Stadium back in June 2021 while the Republic of Ireland suffered the same fate in April 2023.
The USWNT played one previous match at GEODIS Park, earning a 1-0 SheBelieves Cup win over Japan in February 2023.
Emma Hayes’ squad is currently in France, preparing for their start of group stage play on July 25 against Zambia.
