Barcelona intend to offer €40-50 million plus variables for 26-year-old key target

FC Barcelona are broadening their horizons this summer as the club aims to bolster its attack to the brim.

In addition to tailing Athletic Club winger Nico Williams, who is considered just a few steps away from joining the club, Barça also have their eyes firmly set on his Spanish teammate, Dani Olmo.

Financial issues continue to persist, but once they are ironed out, Barcelona will look to strengthen their squad and Olmo’s signature is a way they aspire to regain a competitive edge.

Barcelona’s potential offer to RB Leipzig

Now, according to SPORT, Olmo could still be available for €60 million despite his release clause worth the same amount expiring this past weekend.

And, Barcelona’s plan is to initially offer between €40 and €50 million, with additional performance-related bonuses to meet the total €60 million that was specified in the contract.

However, the intense competition for Olmo’s signature complicates matters. The Catalans are interested but have not yet made a concrete offer to RB Leipzig, who are aware of interest from other top clubs like Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Liverpool.

Still, the 26-year-old midfielder’s own say will matter a lot and his top priority is returning to Barça, which could be a decisive factor.

Having trained at the club’s famed La Masia academy, he is still considered a Barcelona player at heart and his former ties with the team could compel him to push for a move.

Olmo’s incredible performances for Spain in the Euro have incentivized the Catalan giants to seek his signature, but time will tell if they can muster up the finances to acquire him.
