Newcastle have made a ‘late move’ for highly-rated West Ham youngster Kyran Thompson, according to reports this afternoon.
As revealed by popular Academy insider The Secret Scout, Spurs had looked set to sign the 15-year-old attacking midfielder, but it’s believed Newcastle and Arsenal have now presented their projects to the teenager.
They reveal that Newcastle have emerged as a late contender for the youth talent after offering Thompson a move to Tyneside over the past 10 days.
It’s believed all of the ‘big six’ have shown interest in Thompson, with Man City, Liverpool, Man Utd and Chelsea all big admirers, signalling how highly-rated he is within the youth scene.
Newcastle would do well to convince the London-based talent when he’s currently at West Ham and has offers from Arsenal and Spurs – two clubs who’d allow him to stay closer to home – but it’s a sign of our newfound ambition at Academy level that we’re trying to make it happen.
