FC Barcelona have had to juggle their economic levers considerably in the past few years, in an attempt to shore up the club’s coffers.
Yet, the Catalans still face tussles with the Financial Fair Play framework and would require a few more levels in order to relieve themselves from further stress.
Huge financial boost for Barcelona
To that end, a recent report from Victor Malo suggests FC Barcelona has once again turned to innovative financial manoeuvres to stabilise its economic situation.
This could see major sponsors Spotify and Nike stepping in as new shareholders in Barça Studios, now renamed Barça Vision.
The integration of Spotify and Nike into the shareholding structure of Bridgeburg Invest, the legal entity behind Barça Vision, is poised to inject much-needed stability into the club’s finances.
Nike, a longstanding partner of the club, is playing a crucial role in this turnaround. The company has agreed to lift a legal dispute-related ban on €18 million.

Moreover, Nike will sign a landmark new contract with Barcelona, valued at €100 million, further solidifying their partnership.
Spotify, another pivotal player, will join Nike as a new shareholder in Barça Studios. This move aligns with the club’s strategic plan to enhance its financial stability through significant sponsorship and investment.
The restructuring plan also includes the exit of several current shareholders, including Socios.com, Orpheus Media, and Libero Finance Football, which has faced legal challenges for failing to meet payment obligations.
The new structure for Barça Studios is expected to be finalized in the coming weeks.
While the move does make legal and economic sense, one may argue it could lead to Barcelona’s over-reliance on the current set of sponsors. Only time well as to what’s in store for Barça’s economic future.
