Newcastle United have touched down in Tokyo, with the 29-man squad arriving in Japan after a long-haul flight on Sunday.

Before we get to the players absent – most of which have a good explanation – this is the group of players Eddie Howe has selected for upcoming games on Tuesday and Saturday in the J.League Series:

Defenders – Burn, Schar, Kelly, Livramento, Hall, Ashby, Lewis, Krafth, Thompson, Heffernan.

Midfielders – Guimaraes, Tonali, Joelinton, Longstaff, Willock, Harrison, J.Miley, Turner-Cooke.

Attackers – Isak, Barnes, Almiron, J.Murphy, Sanusi, , Parkinson.

Now for the players absent, where we’ve counted 13 Mags not involved in our trip to Asia.

Injured – Callum Wilson (back), Lewis Miley (broken foot), Sven Botman (ACL), Jamaal Lascelles (ACL), Matt Targett (Achilles rehab), Joe White (back)

Granted extended break – Kieran Trippier, Anthony Gordon
