While the primary focus continues to be Nico Williams, FC Barcelona also continue to work on the capture of RB Leipzig and Spain attacking midfielder Dani Olmo.

The 26-year-old Spain’s Euro 2024 hero is also keen on making the move back to Barça, where he spent seven years at La Masia, and as per reports this past weekend, Olmo has an agreement over personal terms with the club.

Negotiations between the Blaugrana and RB Leipzig are underway as they seek to reach an agreement over a transfer fee.

New offer being prepared

As such, Fabrizio Romano now reports that Barcelona are preparing a new offer for Dani Olmo after having held a fresh round of talks with the player’s camp.

The Bundesliga club have already turned down an initial proposal from Barcelona for the 26-year-old. The offer was said to be worth €40 million fixed fee and €20 million in variables with the Catalans paying the fixed fee in instalments worth €10 million over four years.

This offer was alleged to have been dismissed as ‘ridiculous’ by RB Leipzig who instructed Barcelona to return with a significantly improved proposal.

Olmo had a release clause worth €60 million in his contract at RB Leipzig but the clause expired on July 20. However, the Bundesliga club are insistent that any club wanting to sign him reach that figure.

Manchester City, for one, have shown a strong interest in Olmo as well, although there has been no offer from the Premier League champions despite some reports suggesting otherwise.

However, at this point, Olmo is leaning towards Barcelona who are now working on a new offer that will be enough to convince RB Leipzig.
