Transfer talk: Olmo will be going somewhere but Barca bid rejected, Pep says De Bryne is going nowhere

Friday 26 – Manchester City have reportedly made an offer to RB Leipzig for 26-year-old Spain midfielder Dani Olmo. The player was a standout performer of Euro 2024 and could be available for a fee of around £60 million.

With rumours linking star man Kevin De Bruyne to Saudi Arabia not slowing down, despite Pep Guardiola’s insistence he is going nowhere, Olmo would be a natural fit.

Barcelona are also chasing Olmo and have bid an initial £40 million – which would be spread over four payments – plus £20 million in add-ons. Red Bull Leipzig rejected Barcelona’s offer for Olmo.

Liverpool have been told they will need to submit a £50 million bid to land Juventus and Brazil defender Bremer, 27, as the reds remain the only Premier League club not to have made a major signing since the window opened nearly four weeks ago. Linked with a number of centreback targets, Bremer’s age could be the stumbling block as the club prefers to sign players under 25.

The club are also linked with a move for Japan and Real Sociedad winger Takefusa Kubo as the hunt for a potential Mohamed Salah replacement builds pace. The 23-year-old has been backed by Japan captain Wataru Endo, who joined the Reds last summer, but Real Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay has denied there are any talks ongoing between the two clubs.

Paris St-Germain are closing in on a deal for Benfica’s 19-year-old Portugal midfielder Joao Neves, who could bear a price tag close to £100 million. The player is wanted by many of the top clubs around Europe but his valuation has proved to a stumbling block – an obstacle that PSG’s deep pockets are rarely fazed by.

Atletico Madrid have revealed they are “extremely confident” of securing a deal to sign Chelsea and England midfielder Conor Gallagher, 24.
