Romano impressed with Hammers latest deal

There are just two weeks to go until the start of the new Premier League season, and West Ham are on the verge of sealing a deal that even Fabrizio Romano is impressed by.

Technical director, Tim Steidten, appears to have been working overtime this summer to bring the right type of player in to fit Julen Lopetegui’s new system.

Romano’s thumbs up for West Ham new signing

As with most windows, the East Londoners have had their fair share of misses this summer, however, a deal for Leeds United’s exciting winger, Crysencio Summerville, should have the rest of the Premier League sitting up and taking notice.

With 20 goals and nine assists last season for the all whites per WhoScored, the 22-year-old was arguably one of the players of 2023/24.

Leeds’ inability to go straight back up to the Premier League at the first time of asking was always going to see some of their best players leave the club, and the loss of Summerville is likely to be the most keenly felt by Daniel Farke.

Crysencio Summerville is on the verge of completing a deal with West Ham

“Crysencio Summerville will undergo his medical at West Ham today. The deal is almost done, and we are just waiting for the signing of all documents,” Romano said in his exclusive Daily Briefing for CaughtOffside.

“Brighton were interested but never reached an agreement for Crysencio.

“West Ham did an excellent job behind the scenes in June and then presented a formal bid almost 10 days ago, as exclusively revealed.

“The deal is £25m plus add-ons and is a very smart move from the Hammers.”

With a few weeks left of the transfer window, West Ham have every chance to complete a handful of other studious purchases to give Lopetegui the best chance of hitting the ground running from the get go.
