Barcelona keeping tabs on 17-year-old AC Milan wonderkid – report

While Barcelona continue to work hard to secure the signings of main targets Nico Williams and Dani Olmo, they are also keeping an eye on the market for other exciting young talents who could be a great addition to the team with an eye on the future.

Furthermore, given the club’s financial situation as well as the success that they are having with La Masia talents, it makes sense for Barça to continue investing in young prospects with great promise and potential.

Barcelona set sights on Mattia Liberani

To that end, Sky Sports Italia (h/t Mundo Deportivo) reports that Barcelona have set their sights on AC Milan teenage wonderkid Mattia Liberali and are tracking him.

A versatile player capable of operating as an attacking midfielder or out on the flanks, Liberali, 17, is a product of the Milan youth academy and is making quite the impact on their pre-season tour currently.

Liberali was a central part of the Italian Under-17 national team that won the Under-17 European Championship earlier this year and was even named in the Team of the Tournament.

Given his potential, there has been talk of the youngster being integrated into the Rossoneri first-team setup under new manager Paulo Fonseca.

However, the youngster’s performances have seemingly caught the eyes of Barcelona, who are now tracking the teenager’s progress with the Italian outfit.

Barça could get a much closer look at Liberali soon when they take on Milan in their final pre-season friendly in the USA.

The 17-year-old is contracted with the Italian giants until the summer of 2026 and for now, there is nothing concrete apart from the Blaugrana keeping close tabs on his progression.
