Recovery with a Smile: Barcelona’s injured duo delivers positive message

As Gavi and Ronald Araujo work hard on their recovery, they have sent a hopeful message to fans while the rest of the Barcelona players are touring the United States this summer.

On Thursday, the two players shared a positive update through social media. Gavi posted a message on his social media platform with Araujo, saying, “We will be back soon, brother.”

He paired this encouraging note with a photo of the two of them together. Both players are currently back in Barcelona, focusing on their rehabilitation from injuries.

A brief history of their injuries

Gavi has been making noticeable progress in his recovery. The midfielder underwent surgery last November for a severe tear in the anterior cruciate ligament of his right knee, along with an injury to his external meniscus.

Over the past few weeks, Gavi has started to use the ball again, showing signs of improvement. Despite this, he is still some way from being ready to return to competitive matches.

Gavi and Ronald Araujo have vouched to come back stronger.

Araujo, on the other hand, has been dealing with his own set of challenges. He injured the hamstring tendon in his right thigh while playing in the Copa America for Uruguay.

The defender underwent surgery on July 22 in Turku, Finland. The operation was performed by Dr. Lasse Lempainen, with oversight from the medical team at FC Barcelona.

Although the club has not officially stated how long Araujo will be sidelined, it is estimated that his recovery could take around four months, meaning that he is likely to return in December.

Both Gavi and Araujo are crucial for Barcelona, and their absence is significant. The team is also dealing with injuries to other key players, including Frenkie de Jong, Ansu Fati, and Pedri, adding to the challenges faced by coach Hansi Flick.

The medical room is currently quite crowded, and Flick will have to manage without these important players for the foreseeable future.
