As Barcelona gear up for the final friendly against AC Milan, Pau Victor has been quite the success story so far.
The young forward has been one of Barça’s top performers in the friendlies against Manchester City and Real Madrid. He even scored a brace against Los Blancos, helping Barça secure a narrow victory.
Barça want Victor to play for first-team
In light of Pau Victor’s success in pre-season, a report from Cadena SER suggests Barcelona are ready to incorporate the young forward in the first-team next season.
Pau Victor, hailing from Sant Cugat, is currently the only addition to the Blaugrana squad this summer. Thanks to his performances during the U.S. expedition, Barcelona are confident that he will be a key player for the first team this season.
However, like the rest of the squad, Pau Victor’s position hinges on the club’s ability to register players.

Fortunately, his relatively low salary and amortization make his registration more feasible. If registration issues persist into the final week of the transfer market, his status will be reassessed at that time.
Despite the ongoing challenges with player registrations, Barcelona’s management is optimistic about Pau Victor’s potential impact on the team.
An ideal alternative for Lewandowski?
It is no secret that Barcelona are looking for reinforcements in the goalscoring department. The club ideally want a player who can serve as an alternative to Robert Lewandowski.
Amid Ferran Torres’ struggles at Barça, coupled with uncertainty over Vitor Roque’s future at the club, Pau Victor’s presence could be a major boon for the club.
The 21-year-old forward’s pre-season performances have further cemented his place in the squad. His technical skills and on-field intelligence, therefore, could make him the ideal alternative to Lewandowski.
