The future of Vitor Roque at Barcelona appears to be ebbing away with each passing day as the club look to desperately secure a few exits before the transfer market comes to an end.
Joining from Athletico Paranaense in January, Roque has never quite been able to prove himself, even under new coach Hansi Flick.
In fact, the forward has received criticism for his technique and lack of performance during the recently concluded pre-season tour to the United States.
Deco’s meeting with Roque’s representatives
As the layer of uncertainty over Roque’s future continues, Gerard Romero has offered a fresh update on his situation.
The Barcelona-based journalist suggests Barcelona sporting director Deco has recently met Roque’s father and his agent, Andre Cury, to discuss his future.

This meeting was in the works for quite some time, as Barcelona wanted to fast-track the exit of the Brazilian international.
Now, thanks to the meeting, Roque is closer to leaving Barcelona than to prolong his stay in Catalonia.
Offers from several clubs
Despite his struggles at Barça, Vitor Roque appears to have no shortage of admirers, both in Europe and in the Middle East.
The forward has been already courted by a host of Serie A and Premier League clubs, with Lazio, in particular, pushing forward to sign him earlier in the summer.
Roque was also a target for Saudi Arabia earlier, but the Brazilian rejected a move to the Middle East as he wanted to continue at the highest level of football.
Now, with just weeks remaining before the market slams to a shut, it will be interesting to see how Barcelona expedites the sale of the former Athletico Paranaense forward.
