Christian Cappis’ frustrating spell at Danish side Brondby is coming to an end.

Cappis is finalizing a move to Norwegian side Viking, a source close to the player confirmed to SBI. He is still awaiting his physical in Norway, but has already agreed to a three-and-a-half year contract with Viking through 2028.

Danish side TipsBladet originally reported the interest.

The 24-year-old midfielder came up through the FC Dallas academy before moving to Danish side Hobro in 2018. Cappis scored one goal and added six assists in 64 combined appearances with Hobro, teaming up with fellow American, Emmanuel Sabbi.

He spent parts of three seasons with Hobro before making the jump to Brondby in July 2021. Cappis set new career-highs in goals (8), assists (3), and appearances (65) at Brondby.

Cappis spent the first half of last season on loan at fellow Norwegian side Molde, making four appearances in the Eliteserien. He returned to Brondby in January but has mainly been a back up in the squad.

A former U.S. Under-18, Under-20, and Under-23 men’s national team player, Cappis has yet to earn his senior USMNT debut.

Viking continues its Norwegian side with a trip to Rosenborg on August 18.
