Arsenal took home all three points during their trip to Aston Villa in the late kickoff today, with goals from Leandro Trossard and Thomas Partey enough to see them past a Villa side that are hoping to recreate their sensational 23/24 this season.
Player Ratings
Aston Villa
Despite having a strong start to the season against West Ham, Villa struggled to get anything against last season’s second place side, with Ollie Watkins getting only 5.5 in his overall rating and Lucas Digne being the only player to get near a 7 with his 6.9 overall.
Arsenal
Arsenal were solid on the road but no-one looked like a world beater for them today, not that it mattered. Thomas Partey was their best player earning a 7.7 rating overall, whilst William Saliba (7.5) and Bukayo Saka (7.1) also had good showings.
Best Player of the Match
William Saliba
Saliba was Arsenal’s best and overall the best player on the pitch, managing to secure an 8.3 rating with a 99% pass completion and 7 duels won for the central defender.
Worst Player on the Pitch
Ollie Watkins
Unfortunately, Ollie Watkins has not been able to hit the ground running in this Premier League campaign yet after a strong showing at the Euros with England.
Only getting a 5.5 rating this evening, Watkins would only manage 1 shot on target, 1 pass in the final third and 3 touches in the opposition box.
