BBC pundit predicts the ‘Eddie Howe Derby’ as Newcastle face Bournemouth

BBC pundit predicts the ‘Eddie Howe Derby’ as Newcastle face Bournemouth

BBC pundit Chris Sutton is backing Newcastle United to come away with a 2-1 win from Bournemouth tomorrow.

The former Blackburn striker admits he would ‘err towards Bournemouth’ based on our two performances last weekend, where we beat Southampton 1-0 and the Cherries drew 1-1 away to Nottingham Forest.

However, he feels Alexander Isak could be the difference this time out in the ‘Eddie Howe Derby’, although he’s intrigued to see how £40m striker Evanilson gets on if their club-record Dominic Solanke replacement starts.

In his latest prediction piece for the BBC Sport, Sutton said: “The Eddie Howe Derby. It will be interesting to see if Evanilson plays for Bournemouth, they have spent £40.2m on him.

“Newcastle huffed and puffed and found a way last week at home against Southampton and Bournemouth drew at Forest, they probably will feel they should have won the game.

“Based on last week, I would err towards Bournemouth but I am a big fan of Newcastle forward Alexander Isak and I think boss Eddie Howe will return to his old club and win it.

Sutton’s prediction: Bournemouth 1-2 Newcastle

We were poor on the road last season
