Barcelona are always keeping a close eye on the Brazilian footballing scenes with the intention of spotting and signing the next big thing emerging in the country.
The Catalans were interested in signing Endrick, although he ended up at Real Madrid. They signed Vitor Roque last year, although things did not pan out as planned and the striker left on loan today to join Real Betis.
Barcelona also held a strong interest in Estevao Willian, but decided against a move as his signing was not seen as a priority especially as he plays in a similar position as Lamine Yamal.
Now, though, it appears that another Brazilian gem has caught the attention of the Barcelona officials.
Kaua Elias on Barcelona’s radar
Indeed, according to AS, Barcelona are among a host of clubs tracking 18-year-old Fluminense striker Kaua Elias.
The 18-year-old striker is enjoying a breakthrough season with Fluminense, having scored four goals and set up one more in 16 Brazilian Serie A appearances so far in 2024.

Elias has been on Barcelona’s radar for some time now, with the initial links surfacing soon after he top-scored at the Under-17 South American Championships last year.
Now, the Catalans are understood to be still tracking him, along with several other Spanish clubs, including Real Sociedad and Valencia.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are also understood to have asked about the teenage centre-forward’s situation after his breakthrough.
Kaua Elias could cost €20 million
The report states that Fluminense value Elias at a figure around €15-20 million but are not inclined to make a sale at this point.
The striker’s contract with the Brazilian outfit runs until December 31, 2026 but an offer worth €20 million, including fixed and variables, could convince them to change their position.
