Newcastle United have had a quiet summer transfer window.
They were expected to sign more players after the injury issues they faced last season.
Their most prominent arrival so far has been defender Lloyd Kelly, who joined the club as a free agent earlier in the summer.
They are now edging closer to a move to sign their primary target Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace.
However, manager Eddie Howe has confirmed that the Magpies will not be signing a new right-winger this summer.
Howe had hoped to sign a top centre-back as well as a right winger for the club but now he will only be able to sign a defender.
The Newcastle boss will have to show faith in his current options now, which are Miguel Almiron and Jacob Murphy.

Howe was asked if the club could sign a new defender and a right-winger, he said, as quoted by the Daily Mail:
‘Probably not, no.’
It comes as a huge surprise as Newcastle were certain to strengthen the right-wing position.
They have faced financial issues this summer and due to that, they had to sell players like Yankuba Minteh and Elliot Anderson.
The fans will be upset with the decision Newcastle have taken and now it seems they will have to wait till January for more signings.
After the Saudi takeover of the club, nobody had thought that even after such a long time, Newcastle’s right-wing options would be Almiron and Murphy.
